"Finality in dispute resolution - emergent opportunities in Canada"

SPEAKER: Jerry Genge

Jerry is the past-president of Arbitech Inc., Pretium Engineering Inc., and current Principal of Genge Construction Adjudications. He has an engineering degree with honours from the University of Toronto and a recent Master’s in Law specializing in dispute resolution from Osgoode Law School at York University. He is a qualified Ontario Dispute Adjudication for Construction Contracts (ODACC) Adjudicator, has a certificate from Osgoode law school in Advanced Adjudication for Administrative Agencies, Boards and Tribunals, is a Qualified Mediator and a Chartered Arbitrator with the ADR institute of Canada, and a Mediator and Adjudicator with the Condominium Authority Tribunal in Ontario. He is a strong proponent of cost-effective, low-anxiety, and speedy resolution of claims through mediation and arbitration.

His 45-year technical background, participation in industry associations and boards, and standards-writing experience has earned him special recognition. His background in engineering, contract management, and preparation of expert reports has been invaluable as a foundation to dispute resolution. His post-graduate work focusses on fast access to justice using expert arbitration.

He balances his dispute resolution time with writing, walking with his collies, and playing the role of “arm-candy” for his Town Councillor wife at her community social events.
