SPEAKER: Ayo Daniel Abiola

Ayo Daniel Abiola, professional engineer (P.Eng) and mechanical cost consultant (PQS) is the President of Avalanche Nation Services Inc. through which he provides engineering assessments, appraisals and mechanical cost consulting to clients. He started his career in energy resiliency investigating the vulnerabilities and ways to protect solar energy infrastructures from hazardous climate especially high intensity wind forcing. Subsequently, he worked in the built environment as a mechanical cost consultant, as well as roles in project management, design of mechanical services, and energy engineering for buildings.

In his work leading the delivery of energy management solutions to lower carbon emission intensity of institutional, commercial, and healthcare buildings across Canada, Ayo focuses on the technological, financial, and lately policy drivers of building sustainability. He explores the question of why sustainable solutions can be attractive to owners and decision makers despite higher capital costs compared to traditional alternatives.
