Description

Nous recherchons 2 estimateurs(trices) en construction, idéalement spécialisés en toitures commerciales pour combler notre équipe d'estimateurs.

Rôles et responsabilités

Tâches principales:

  • Procéder au traitement des soumissions tout en respectant les conformités requises et les dates d’échéances,
  • Faire une évaluation détaillée des prix à soumettre aux clients,
  • Préparer les estimations des coûts des matériaux, de la main-d’œuvre, de l’équipement et de la sous-traitance de différents projets en fonction des offres de contrat, des plans et devis, des schémas et des spécifications,
  • Examiner et analyser des appels d’offres pertinentes,
  • Participer à la négociation des contrats,
  • S’assurer de la bonne communication avec les fournisseurs,
  • Effectuer l’élaboration de fiches techniques,
  • Effectuer toutes autres tâches requises par le poste,
  • Assurer la liaison et la communication avec les ingénieurs, les architectes, les entrepreneurs et les sous-traitants.

Éducation et expérience

Exigences:

  • Posséder un DEP, AEC ou certificat en estimation ou toute expérience pertinente
  • Minimum 3 années d’expérience en tant qu’estimateur en construction
  • Bonne maitrise de la lecture de plan et en compréhension de devis (Obligatoire)
  • Connaissance en toiture (un fort atout)
  • Connaissance du logiciel PlanSwift (obligatoire)
  • Connaissance de la suite MS Office

Overview / Job Summary

The Estimator will report to the Vice President, Estimating and Project Management. This role will play an integral part in preparing tender packages for major commercial, industrial and infrastructure projects. This will include accurate quantity take offs, in depth estimating, sub-trade solicitation, competitive bid comparisons and document control.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Completes full quantity take-off of all labour, equipment and materials required to complete the project as per contract specifications to ensure accuracy of pricing
  • Accurate, timely and well organized estimates
  • Preparing the pre-qualification package
  • Preparing the tender package
  • Preparing RFP and RFQ packages
  • Accurate, timely and well organized estimates
  • Organize sub-contractor quotes
  • Assist in monitoring the success of a project with the on-site supervisors
  • Noting potential challenges
  • Able to create and maintain effective relationships with clients, vendors, subcontracts, architects, designers, field superintendents, and internal staff
  • Historical record of production rate from ongoing projects and collecting data from daily and weekly reports
  • Attending to the site visit / tender meeting
  • Highly organized with the ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines in a rapidly changing work environment, Ability to work under pressure and meet critical deadlines

Skills and Competencies

  • Excellent computer skills including Excel, Word and MS Projects

Education and Experience

  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in Quantity Surveyor or Civil Engineering / Civil Engineering technologist.

Overview / Job Summary

The Quantity Surveyor will assist in the procurement of and will be responsible for the commercial management of subcontractors. SMJV supports local and indigenous contractors wherever possible and the successful candidate will need to factor in community relations as well as commercial factors as part of their role.

They will also support the wider commercial team in the administration of change management and project progress tracking under the direction of the Project Commercial Manager.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Involvement in the Procurement of Subcontract works, including preparation of Request for Proposals documentation, administration of tender correspondence to/ from bidders.
  • Preparation of Subcontract Bid Analysis and Award Recommendation Documents.
  • Negotiation and Subcontract Formulation.
  • Assessment/ valuation of Subcontractors payment applications and administration of internal Payment processes, including change management and internal approvals.
  • Prepare, update and issue monthly subcontract liability reports.
  • Assist in the preparation of commercial reports internally and to the client.
  • Measurement, valuation, negotiation of claims and change orders.
  • Identify areas of contractual risk and minimize that risk.
  • Assist in preparation of contractual claims, including developing the basis of entitlement and quantum.

  • General Contract administration.
  • Weekly/monthly cost reporting to client.

  • Work with Project Managers in the preparation of Project Management Reports, specifically in relation to cost, cost forecasting, accruals, provisions, contractual status and risk.

Note: In addition to these duties personnel are required to carry out such other duties as may be reasonably required in order to support the objectives of the company.

Skills and Competencies

  • Good hands on technical, communication, organizational, supervisory and planning skills.
  • Working knowledge of contract language and legal requirements of contracts.
  • Excellent people, leadership and organizational skills.
  • Advanced understanding of contractual, commercial, financial and Project controls.

Education and Experience

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
  • CIQS (Canadian Institute of Quantity Surveyors) or international equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 3- 5 years’ experience with major infrastructure contractors.

Working Conditions

Positions are field based and often works within remote project locations. Travel and/or living in temporary accommodations is required. Able to work 6 days on, 1 day off shift, with 12 hour shifts for the duration of project.
